Fix Repair corrupted zip file and error messages like Unsupported Compression Method

Dear Reader, sometimes you may have encountered a situation where you came to know that the Zip file you created or downloaded, which indeed carries data that is much needed to you but all of a sudden, to your biggest surprise, you get an error message from Windows showing:

"Windows cannot open the archive C:Abc.zip is invalid "

This is where, it becomes more tragic, especially if youve created that Zip file using obsolete compression app.. & it contains a lot of your personal and/or professional data

{ You might have encountered that Windows explorer or any other compression software such as WinZip fails to open that archive but 7Zip or WinRAR opens the archive and displays the file contents as a regular zip file but both are unable to extract them.. }

Possible Reasons for bad zip/corrupted zip file:
1. Creating Zip files using vague/obsolete/non reputed programs.
2. Incomplete transfer: In case you downloaded the Zip file from your email or website, try downloading again. If its size is too large to be downloaded again and you believe youve it downloaded completely, then try repairing it.
3. In case you have transferred the Zip file from your smartphone to PC, try to copy that file again (only if its working on your smartphone) otherwise head towards repair of your Zip file.
4. Zip file attacked by Virus and/or other malicious software that damaged its data/code.
5. Corrupted zip file headers, Sometimes your zip file has its headers corrupted only and with this error, youve probably have high chance of data recovery. Errors such as "Unsupported Compression Method"
6. Zip file created on Androids internal memory but larger in size as such in my case 4.67GB especially using method deflateonly..

Repairing/Fixing your corrupted/damaged zip archive
1. You may try diskinternals zip repair, a free tool to repair most of your damaged zip file.
2. In case method 1 isnt working for you for some reasons or Zip file is of large size, then try WinRAR archivers internal option to repair your Zip/RAR archive. [Recommended to try before trying out any other free or paid app]
3. Power archivers internal option to repair damaged/corrupted zip files..

Thats it youll have all or your partial data recovered depending on your archive health. Hope Ive helped you with this one. Enjoy . . .
